Today, Josa is helping her mother with mending and they found her wool skating dress in the pile. Josa wore it a lot last winter, and in her second to last wearing, tore the skirt. Her mother has now mended it and it will be ready for her to wear when cold comes again.

Carrol was having a regency style wedding. When Carrie met with Carrol and her mother a few days ago, one of the things Carrie had to do was contact the woman who was sewing the dresses. Melinda was doing last minute alterations on some of the dresses when Carrie stopped by her little shop. After talking a bit, Melinda said she had the perfect dress for Carrie to wear. So Carrie went to the wedding in style!
Today, Josa is going to another picnic. She chooses a prairie-style dress her mother made for her last year. Yesterday, she helped her mother fry donuts for her contribution to the picnic fare, and now she's ready to go.
Three days before Carrol Write's wedding Manu called Carrie to say she had come down with some kind of flu-like cold. Manu had been working on gathering the last of the stuff for Carrol's big day. But she was feeling so bad the last day she had had to put it all aside. Now Manu knew she would not be able to finish so asked Carrie to take over. As this was one of the weddings Manu had been doing, Carrie did not know much about it. So she had a lot to catch up on. This is the pajama outfit Carrie wore the night after Manu called her. Carrie took the files home from the office and stayed up most the night to put things together and see just what was left for her to do. She grabbed a couple hours of sleep then rushed to the office the next morning where she as to meet with Carrol and her mother to go over last minute things.
The pants and sleeveless top are of a matching knit. The sweater is also made from a knit fabric. Today Josa is going to her piano lesson. She wears a knit dress with trim of a contrasting color on the neck, sleeves and hem.
We're very sorry for the delay in posting this outfit.
Carrie sinks into a chair back at the office. That was one busy wedding. Carrie was running back and forth from one place to another the whole time. The only time she was able to sit down was during the ceremony. The wedding colors were coral, yellow and white for the bridesmaids and white and tan for the mens' suits. The skirt Carrie wore was a lightweight cotton and made very full. The top is a sheer over fabric and also frilly. She wears a knit bolero over the sleeveless top and pearls around her neck. Because of all the running she was doing, Carrie left her shoes in the dressing room. Carrie is very thankful that wedding is over. Today, Josa and her mother are planting the plants they bought at the greenhouse. The day is a little chilly and rain is expected this afternoon. Josa wears a denim jumper over a long-sleeved knit shirt.
Today Carrie wears a cotton twill skirt with a polyester tank over which she wears a denim ruffled jacket. Carrie wore a pair of peep-toe heels. This wedding was for a daughter of one of Carrie's father's clients. Her father is a lawyer and the girl happens to be marrying Carrie's father's junior partner. So Carrie got sit with her father during the ceremony and reception. She was not only there as the one in charge but also as a friend. It was a rather relaxing and fun time for her.
I am about to do a rather scary thing. At least that is how it seems to me at this point. I just finished drawing a girl doll that will show up here in a couple of months. And the next doll for me to move onto is a MAN DOLL!!!!! I have drawn a few male dolls before (which will show up sometime:)) but that was years ago and my (self-set) drawing standards have risen a lot since then. So drawing a doll that will match my standards may be a bit stressful. =( But I have found out (again) that I underestimate myself a lot so I am going to bite the bullet and draw a male doll over the next couple of weeks.
It takes me a couple of weeks to get a doll done as I have high standards as I have said. =) But I do like drawing them. I find pictures for a model and start with the basic outline. Then comes lots of erasing and redrawing to get the details just right. Sometimes my obsessing over getting it right can be to much of a headache so I take a few days of a break. The funny thing is, I am not a perfectionist. In all the many other things I do I don't have to get it just right all the time. Anyway I just thought it would be fun to share that with all of you who read this=) I hope you are having fun with what ever it is you are busying yourselves with this late spring and early summer. Billie Jo Today is rainy, so Josa's mother decided it would be a good day to go to the greenhouse and buy the rest of the plants they will need for their vegetable garden. Then, when it dries out, they can finish planting the garden. Josa wears a simple cotton jumper over a T-shirt for their trip.
