Carrie travels a bit for this wedding. Abbey lives in the same town as Carrie but is getting married out west with a western wedding. This sleeveless strapless dress has a tight, knit under dress with a filmy, flowing overdress. A cotton knit bolero is worn over the dress, with a thin leather belt around the waist. Carrie found some cowboy boots to finish off her western outfit. Thank you for following along with Carrie on her journey. I had so much fun drawing her and writing these descriptions.

Janet had a formal evening wedding. She is the daughter of the president of a big bank and is marrying the CEO of the same bank. Carrie was surprised Janet chose them to oversee her wedding and ever more surprised when Manu handed Janet over to her. Janet was really nice to work with but it took some time to plan the wedding. It was small, with family members and about 3 dozen friends. Yes, that is small, considering they would be having a bigger party later in the year with about 1,000 guests. Janet and her husband-to-be were both well known.
Carrie wore a maxi style skirt of satin with a chiffon overskirt. Her top is made of rayon. Tt is sleeveless with lots of gathers and ruching. A triple rope of pearls hangs around her neck. She wears high heels to make her tall enough so the skirts just touches the ground. Today Carrie is very nervous. Manu called a few days ago to say she was still not feeling well enough to attend an important fund-raising banquet. But she had called some people and checked to make sure it was okay for Carrie to attend in her place as representative of the business. The people were fine with that. So Carrie, terrified of messing up, went shopping for a formal dress as Manu had told her to do.
The dress is of a thin satin with sheer over. The top is lace in a leaf pattern. A clutch purse of satin holds Carrie's keys, phone and the like. Carrie wears a bracelet of pearls around her wrist. For any wondering the night went well and Carrie did just fine. The Saturday after Lilli's wedding, Carrie found no wedding on the calender. A friend was having a back yard BBQ and was pleading with Carrie to come over and just relax. So Carrie did, in a loose fitting, very comfortable, maxi style dress of knit. The day was a little chilly so she brought along a light-weight denim jacket.
Carrie had a good time as well as way too many glasses of the amazingly delicious tasting fruit punch that was being served. Lilli Bennet's wedding was a big one. Carrie felt rushed having just come off Carrol's wedding. Fortunately, Carrie had been the one taking care of Lilli's wedding all along. But still, having to look after the office, her own clients, plus those of Manu's (since Manu still wasn't feeling well), left Carrie very busy.
Lilli had lace as one of the main themes for her wedding. So Carrie went shopping to find a dress that would go with the tan, beige, ivory and white color scheme as well as the roses and lace theme. When she found this dress made of some kind of synthetic fiber with a lace overdress, she knew she had to buy it. At a discount store she was able to find the lace-covered shoes that matched the dress as if they were made for each other. Carrol was having a regency style wedding. When Carrie met with Carrol and her mother a few days ago, one of the things Carrie had to do was contact the woman who was sewing the dresses. Melinda was doing last minute alterations on some of the dresses when Carrie stopped by her little shop. After talking a bit, Melinda said she had the perfect dress for Carrie to wear. So Carrie went to the wedding in style!
Three days before Carrol Write's wedding Manu called Carrie to say she had come down with some kind of flu-like cold. Manu had been working on gathering the last of the stuff for Carrol's big day. But she was feeling so bad the last day she had had to put it all aside. Now Manu knew she would not be able to finish so asked Carrie to take over. As this was one of the weddings Manu had been doing, Carrie did not know much about it. So she had a lot to catch up on. This is the pajama outfit Carrie wore the night after Manu called her. Carrie took the files home from the office and stayed up most the night to put things together and see just what was left for her to do. She grabbed a couple hours of sleep then rushed to the office the next morning where she as to meet with Carrol and her mother to go over last minute things.
The pants and sleeveless top are of a matching knit. The sweater is also made from a knit fabric. We're very sorry for the delay in posting this outfit.
Carrie sinks into a chair back at the office. That was one busy wedding. Carrie was running back and forth from one place to another the whole time. The only time she was able to sit down was during the ceremony. The wedding colors were coral, yellow and white for the bridesmaids and white and tan for the mens' suits. The skirt Carrie wore was a lightweight cotton and made very full. The top is a sheer over fabric and also frilly. She wears a knit bolero over the sleeveless top and pearls around her neck. Because of all the running she was doing, Carrie left her shoes in the dressing room. Carrie is very thankful that wedding is over. Today Carrie wears a cotton twill skirt with a polyester tank over which she wears a denim ruffled jacket. Carrie wore a pair of peep-toe heels. This wedding was for a daughter of one of Carrie's father's clients. Her father is a lawyer and the girl happens to be marrying Carrie's father's junior partner. So Carrie got sit with her father during the ceremony and reception. She was not only there as the one in charge but also as a friend. It was a rather relaxing and fun time for her.
This wedding was not a very expensive one. The bride's family did not have a lot of money to put into the wedding. Carrie was able to help them find a lot of things to DIY. It was a country chic wedding in mint green and tan with peach accents. Carrie chose a simple cotton dress over which she wore a leather belt that laced closed. She wears the same necklace she wore for Carrie Simply Dressy. Carrie choose flats to go with her outfit. The wedding went well and Carrie thinks it is safe to say she sent a HAPPY couple off for the honey moon.
